Sorry, Lucy!

Apparently, Wolfenstein 3D made Lucy Liu’s character on Ugly Betty cry….

I will personally apologize to Lucy, if she apologizes for mispronouncing Wolfenstein on national television (it rhymes with “fine”, Lucy!)

  1. Hi Tom,
I’m reading “Masters of Doom” the book written by David Kushnern, and I’m amazed by the whole story of how Keen was born. I played it for years when I was a child, without knowing anything about the work behind it. Where I live, in Italy, the beginning of the PC age came late, and me and my brother were living the revolution of videogames by ourselves mostly.

It feels a little unreal to me writing in your blog, I mean… reaching the creator of Keen it’s awesome!

I’m sorry for the comment a little offtopic, but there’s a thing we (me and my brother) were thinking a lot these days. Why don’t you make a new adventure of Commander Keen? I mean something similar to the concept of Street Fighter HD or Wario Land: The Shake Dimension. Same game, new fabulous features and all the graphic redesigned with the same style but the quality of a cartoon. I’m sure you thought already something like that but I felt as my duty to express the belief that Keen will surely smack all the contenders to pieces!

Thanks for making my childhood so cool!
    Carlo

  2. I SAY, throw her to the Wolfenstein dogs.

  3. NS: I’d love to, but id owns the rights to Keen. If I ever got him back, I’d love to make more adventures for him.

    BB: Heh.

  4. There is some more off:

    Nomed Senkrad:
There is a classic game, Commander Keen. It’s a very good game, it’s a lot of fun! But if you make a “new advanture” for example in 3D it’s can be a big fault. For example, there is a game called super mario. It was good too. But there is a lot of newer mario game in 3D. I don’t like them…

  5. Well, I personally felt the Super Mario games in 3D came off a whole lot better than his blue counterpart.

    Regardless….

Tom, dude, is that you striking that over-the-top-truly-crazy-and-then-some pose in the picture?

  6. What picture? I look like Mr Clean with a beard. Like my icon up there.

The character is named Tom, and he’s got the beard, but the hair is just… out there… you know?

  8. So… it’s… a bit…. Klingon-y…..

    Now I’m all Picard-style. Sigh.

  9. Yessir, that comes with your choice of a #1 co-worker or a deep, obviously testorone-affected tone of voice.

  10. Funktion Says:

Tom, first of all congratulations for your work, and thanks for all the wonderful moments I had/have playing your games.

I was wondering if there’s any chance we may get a Hyperspace Delivery Boy! sequel, or maybe a port of the original game to a console such as the Nintendo DS (or it’s downloadable service)?

Hyperspace Delivery Boy! was such a charming little game, it would be a shame nothing else ever comes from it’s “universe”.

Just passed by to say “hello” Tom!

How abut a new update in your blog?

    Love ya, take care.
