Thanks, Shockateer and Schizoguy!

It would be pretty sweet if GOG.com could get the rights to that one.

And then fund the production of a sequel.

    Or get HDB. Ahaha.

I wonder if Tom has some hidden design docs about a sequel or a similar ambitious game. Maybe starring the Dope Fish? =D

Ok Tom, if you’re going to mentioned Anachronox again,
there’s a whole following out there who demands Anachronox Prime.
Why was it cancelled and why isn’t it being picked up again?

    Oh, nostalgia.

Man, I still LOVE Anachronox to this day. Is on my Top 3 games ever.

Wish games nowadays where half as fun, half as great, half as… everything Anox was.

And Michael Ekebratt, Anox Prime was cancelled because Eidos sucks. And they got the rights to it. Shame 😦

Still, I dream of the day I could play this sequel … *sigh*

Anyway, if one day you give up hope of another Anox being made Tom (please, don’t :)), would be nice to read about the plot!

I mean, Boots and company didn’t exactly saved the day, since Chatagra and Grumpos managed to go to the previous universe. Since then, I”m dying to know how it ends.

Just another day, I saw a copy of Anox being sold near where I live (in Brazil).

    Long live Anox !

Wow, what a find. I just started playing Anachronox (for the nth time) via Wine a few days ago, and was looking around for whatever traces of a community are left. Would love to see more happen with this game, especially as there are (professional) people about who would willingly port Anachronox to other platforms if they had access to the source and permission from the rights holder.

    A man can dream, can’t he….

The sequel material has to be released one way or the other (movie, TV series, animation, book, comic, PC/console game), it’s a crime to just let it die! I know it’s Eidos’ rights, but maybe 10 years from now they aren’t going to care anymore. There are still people posting on PlanetAnachronox.com (in 2004 it was a very rich community, a lot of people were trying to mod the game and to make their own sequel). I mean, what a story! The multiverse theory put over a noir love story, with a strong political message (just look at Democratus!) has never been done before! And it probably will never get done. Never before have I seen a game with such a deep story and such flawed but good intentioned characters.

Planetanachronox.com actually went down a few months ago. I didn’t realize the forumplanet page was still up, though.

The sequel should be relased simply for the years and years I spent rewriting the Anachrodox. Bringing the documentation up from 6Mb to 4.2Gb!, also maintaining the site for around eight years. Even though the site finally went down about five months ago, I keep a backup of everything created for Anachronox. πŸ™‚

The community I am still in touch with are really praying that since Square purchased Eidos that they will revive Anachronox, especially since Square specializes in RPGs.

Thanks for the great game Tom. I have been playing games for around 30 years. My first game was the original console Pong that ran off of batteries. Anachronox is one of the top best games ever created on my list!

Sorry about that eh Creaper… I managed to also backup everything before the site went down.

Once I find new employment I’ll have everything back up (hopefully under a more suitable domain name).

I ended up moving back to a small town after a brief stint at city living, currently questing for employment. No more Moon Burger.

Holy crap! You mean Limbo isn’t dead? That enticing teaser went up years and years ago and there’s been absolutely no news since.

Oh, it always feels good to see the name Anachronox. It and Doom are the two games that keep permanent residence on any PC that I own. Beyond everything else I love about this game, it also introduced me to “Backseat Coop”. You know, where you’re trying to play the game and your friends get sucked into watching. Then they start telling what to do and where to go over your shoulder. πŸ˜‰

If I ever win the lotto, I promise I’ll bribe whomever is necessary and sponsor Anachronox 2!

Oh by golly. Hrm. Due to the circumstances of life, necessity, and travel, I’m about to undertake putting Anachronox on a netbook. I’ll do what I can, but if there’s anything I never managed to find on google regarding success in native widescreen resolutions, I’d much appreciate a good shove in the right direction!

Tom — I have just started a Let’s Play on youtube of this game. To my knowledge, there is no completed LP for Anachronox there. If you read this could you send me an e-mail? I’d like to sprinkle in some game stories and trivia in with the LP and I was wondering if you’d maybe like to share some.

I played the game and loved it a few years ago. It also was used as a popular machinima series
